One of the reasons I like to blog is because it gives me an opportunity to express my faith in an artistic way, while challenging myself to see God in His world. The reason why I decided to do The Photo Faith Challenge is so I can show the world how God speaks to us in His World. Having Biblical Eyesight helps us see God in our world, and helps us engage our culture with then intent of reaching it for Christ.
So who am I? Well I live in Charlotte, NC with my wife and two awesome children. I am am elementary school teacher. I have a love for God’s Word, and I love photography even if I am too poor to afford an awesome camera.
The other reason I want to this is because I want to take the time to reflect on my faith journey. So often, we allow ourselves to get caught up in the day to day grind forgetting where God has brought us through our faith. I am going to look at events in the past and the future. Paul wrote this to Timothy:
I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy. I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. II Timothy 1:3-7 ESV
Paul takes the time to reflect on his and Timothy’s faith. Paul reminds him in order for Timothy to remember where he has come from, and where he is going. Looking back on our faith allows to remember moments where we see God working in our lives.
